This black Bakelite (or Galalith) brooch has a curved centerpiece topped with a collet-set diamanté. Each end features three rows of slightly-curved links with channel-set stones. The components are attached to a rhodium-plated metal back. This piece closes with a trombone clasp. The design and construction remind me of jewelry created by the German makers Schreiber & Hiller in the 1930s. Although the channel-set stones have aged a bit, this brooch is still a stunner!
